Front design.

The iconic lower air intake dominates the front bumper for an aggressive and powerful look providing much-needed engine cooling during hot laps and spirited driving. LED headlights & LED daytime running lights.

The distinctive LED headlights offer increased visibility with the Daytime Running Lights showcasing aesthetically pleasing white lighting. So, whether it's night or day, the Kona N is always distinguishable on the road.

Rear design.

At the rear, the large wing spoiler features the distinctive N triangular brake light increasing downforce and reducing drag. A large diffuser minimises airflow and N dual exhaust mufflers integrated into the lower bumper complete the racing lines of this all-fun performance SUV.

N Performance Driving Data System.

Just like in a video game, the Kona N allows you to switch driving mode at the touch of a button. Choose from five individual drive modes - Eco, Normal, Sport, N or N Custom settings - to perfectly match the road or driving conditions. In Custom mode you decide the drive, saving your specs for engine mapping, damper firmness, steering weight, E-LSD characteristics, stability control and exhaust sound level. It’s your drive with your specific settings.

Torque that takes off.

The Kona N keeps maximum torque between 1,950 and 4,600 RPM, and achieves maximum power at 5,200 RPM. This improves acceleration in the mid and high-speed range which means you know it will perform on any day and in any condition.

N DCT Transmission.

The Kona N comes with an 8-speed wet dual clutch transmission that pushes the performance to another level. N DCT brings motorsport inspired sequential gearbox like performance and shifting with the convenience of a conventional automatic. Push forward to downshift, pull back to upshift - you can now shift gears like a video game for maximum driving fun. The N DCT also brings with it three new performance driving modes, N Grin Shift, N Power Shift and N Track Sense Shift for an adrenalin gaming boost like no other.

N Corner Carving.

The reason our N series are notorious corner rascals? Four words; N Corner Carving Differential or E-LSD for short. When cornering, E-LSD sends engine power to the outside of the wheels rather than the inner side preventing understeering and delivering a unique carving experience.

In addition, as an SUV the Kona N has improved strut ring structure, extra welding points and reinforced skeleton to hug the road during cornering.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist.

Sensing the road ahead with radar and a camera, FCA warns you and then automatically brakes when it detects sudden braking by a car ahead. The system also detects pedestrians and cyclists.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW)

Driver Attention Warning (DAW) recognises when the driver is showing signs of fatigue or has been driving continuously for an extened period of time. It uses the windshield mounted camera to monitor the Kona N’s position in a lane, while also tracking steering, brake pedal use, and time since your last break. Gentle chimes and pop-up messages will suggest you take a break.

Lane Following Assist (LFA).

Lane Following Assist (LFA) uses the front windshield mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road, and provides steering assistance to ensure the vehicle stays in the centre of the lane.

Lane Keeping Assist - Line (LKA-L/R)

Lane Keeping Assist – Line/Road Edge (LKA-L/R) system consists of two modes – Lane Departure Warning (LDW) mode, and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) mode. At speeds of 60km/h or above, LDW uses the windshield mounted camera to detect lane markings and road edges, and monitors the vehicle’s position in the lane. Should the vehicle stray from the intended lane without indicators being activated, an audible and visual warning will be sounded. LKA can be active at speeds of 60km/h or above where lane marking can be detected. LKA helps prevent the vehicle from straying from the lane by providing steering intervention should the driver not react to warnings from the LDW system.

High Beam Assist (HBA).

While you’re driving with your high beam headlights on, High Beam Assist is automatically scanning the road ahead. If it detects an oncoming vehicle, it will automatically dim your headlamps to low beam.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA).

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) uses radar sensors on either side of the rear bumper to detect vehicles next to and diagonally behind the Kona N. If a vehicle is detected in the blind spot while the turn signal is flashing, BCA will automatically apply left or right-side front braking before your attempted lane change thus helping you avert an unsafe lane change and a potential collision.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).

Using the BCA system’s radar sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) monitors for traffic approaching on either side of the Kona N when reversing out of perpendicular parking spaces at speeds of up to 8km/h. Should RCCA detect a vehicle approaching, an audible warning will sound, with a visual warning displayed on the dash cluster. In the case that the driver does not adhere to the warning, RCCA may use braking force and help avoid a collision with the approaching vehicle.

Smart Cruise Control (SCC).

This system utilises the front radar sensor to detect the speed and distance of a vehicle travelling ahead in the same direction and lane. It then automatically maintains a safe distance from that vehicle, up to a maximum speed pre-set by the driver (between 30km/h and 180km/h).
