Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

Hybrid electric power and turbo performance in a family size SUV.

Introducing the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid - with ‘best of both worlds’ power and efficiency, it’s the agile SUV for active families on the go. This stylish and sporty SUV available in both 7 and 6 seater (6 seat option available on Highlander variant only) comes packed with all the latest creature comforts to keep the whole family happy. Peace at last.

Energetic and efficient.

Energetic and efficient.

The Santa Fe Hybrid is an energetic and efficient new family SUV. Its 1.6 T-GDI Hybrid AWD Powertrain delivers 169kW/350Nm of power and fuel efficiency of 6.0L/100km[P1].

Lean and green.

Lean and green.

Hybrid not only means lean fuel efficiency, it also means less emissions – including a CO2 reduction to 137g/km making it the greenest in the Santa Fe range.

Quietly smooth.

Quietly smooth.

The hybrid experience is like no other. In urban driving the electric/petrol motors team seamlessly to provide a whisper quiet, smooth ride.

How Hybrid works.

The Santa Fe Hybrid combines the power of an electric motor and a petrol engine to deliver a more efficient, economical and sustainable drive. The two powertrains seamlessly combine for fast acceleration and effortless power, providing a ‘best of both world’s’ driving experience. The battery is charged as you drive via the braking system, harnessing the energy from deceleration – meaning your Santa Fe Hybrid is always charged and ready to drive.

Santa Fe Hybrid

1. Lithium-ion polymer battery.

The battery is the heart of the Hybrid, delivering charge to drive the electric motor. It is cleverly located under the driver’s seat allowing for more storage space in the rear of the vehicle.

2. Permanent magnet electric motor.

The high-performance rare-earth magnet electric motor works alone or in tandem with the petrol motor to enhance driving performance and fuel efficiency.

3. Regenerative braking system.

This ingenious system harnesses the kinetic energy that’s produced during braking and converting it into electricity. This electricity is stored in the battery pack to power the electric motor – and improve economy.

4. Electric brake booster.

The electric brake booster works with the hydraulic brake system to ensure the driver always ‘feels’ the linear action of the brake pedal when the regenerative braking system is engaged.

Excitement meets efficiency.

From its eye-catching headlights and bold cascading front grille through to its athletic and powerful road stance, every external detail of the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid is designed to take family fun and adventure to the next level.

Santa Fe Hybrid

19" aero type alloy wheels.

Hybrid-exclusive 19” aero-type alloy wheels not only make a bold design statement, they also work to improve vehicle aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.

LED daytime running lights (DRLs).

These bright, energy efficient LED daytime running lights switch on automatically as the engine starts, making the Santa Fe Hybrid more visible to oncoming drivers as well as in carparks and tunnels.

Cascading front grille.

Tapering into the headlights, the design of the signature cascading front grille continues its evolution with mesh-type geometry and a 3-dimensional dark chrome finish that gives the Santa Fe Hybrid an imposing, premium look.

Safety first and foremost.

At Hyundai, we believe that a high standard of safety should never be an optional extra. That’s why we created Hyundai SmartSense™[P5] – our standard advanced system of interconnected cameras, radars, alerts, alarms and ultrasonic sensors that know what’s behind you, what’s beside you, and can get your Santa Fe Hybrid to react to what’s in front of you.

Safety Features

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist – Rear (BCA-R)

Like a second set of eyes, this system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to look out for vehicles in the driver’s blind spot. When BCA-R detects a vehicle in those blind spots (including when a driver is exiting out of a parallel kerbside space), it provides visual and audible alerts, and if it detects a potential collision, it initiates active avoidance steering manoeuvres to steer the Santa Fe out of harm’s way.

Safety Features

Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM).

Signalling left or right with the Santa Fe’s indicators will activate
Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM). This safety system can see cars travelling in rear blind spots and projects real-time video onto the 12.3” supervision cluster, giving the driver an even better driving picture to respond to.

Available on the Highlander variant.

Safety Features

Driver Attention Warning (DAW)

DAW analyses your driving behaviours over time. If it notices signs of fatigue or recognises you’ve been driving continuously for an extended time, pop-up messages and audible warnings will suggest you take a break.

Safety Features

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) – City/Urban/Interurban Pedestrian/Cyclist (camera & radar).

This system utilises front radar sensors and a windshield-mounted camera to detect cars in front that have become too close for comfort. It can also detect pedestrians and cyclists travelling in front and will automatically apply the Santa Fe’s brakes if there’s the chance of a collision.

Safety Features

High Beam Assist (HBA).

Switching between high and low beam has never been easier during nighttime or when in low visbility areas. This innovation scans the road ahead looking for headlights of oncoming cars, then automatically adjusts the Santa Fe’s headlamp range, switching between high and low beam.

Animations are for illustrative purposes only.

Safety Features

Lane Following Assist (LFA).

LFA uses the front windshield mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road, and provides steering assistance to ensure the vehicle stays in the centre of the lane.

Safety Features

Lane Keeping Assist – Line/Road-Edge (LKA-L/R).

This steering-assist function detects lane markings to monitor your Santa Fe’s position in the lane. Should you stray from a lane without activating your indicators, an audible and visual warning will be sounded and where required, steering intervention will be provided to keep you in your lane.

Safety Features

Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist-Rear (PCA-R).

When you’re slowly reversing the Santa Fe, such as in a garage or parking spot and the PCA-R system anticipates a collision with an obstacle, the system warns the driver with visual and audible alarms while engaging the vehicle's emergency brakes to prevent the collision.

Available on the Highlander variant.

Safety Features

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).

This technology makes exiting a parking spot much safer. When the Santa Fe is in reverse, rear sensors monitor vehicles and pedestrians approaching from the sides and rear. If something enters a blind spot, an audible warning will sound and a visual alert will appear in the supervision cluster. Then if necessary to prevent a collision, emergency braking will be activated.

Animations are for illustrative purposes only.

Safety Features

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA).

This system monitors the Santa Fe’s rear doors opening and closing so nothing is accidentally left behind inside the Santa Fe. When the driver stops the engine and opens their door to exit, ROA will display a “Check rear seats" warning message in the supervision cluster.

Available on the Santa Fe and Active variants.

Safety Features

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) – Advanced.

This system includes all the elements of standard Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), plus it will sound an audible warning alarm if it detects any movement in the rear seats after the ignition of the Santa Fe has been turned off and locked by the driver.

Available on the Elite and Highlander variants.

Safety Features

Safe Exit Assist (SEA).

The Santa Fe’s senses are always looking out for you. Even when it’s parked, if it detects a car approaching from behind, it will prevent the driver from disengaging the electronic child safety lock to allow passengers in the 2nd row seat from exiting the vehicle. And if it detects a vehicle approaching and a road-facing rear passenger opens their door, it will sound a warning chime reminding them to be careful and a warning sign will also pop up in the cluster.

Available on the Active, Elite & Highlander variants
