At the rear, the large wing spoiler featuring the distinctive N triangular brake light not only creates downforce and balance, but signals that fun is just around the corner. The two large exhaust pipes integrated into the lower bumper complete the racing image of the pure high-performance i30 N.

If you needed any more evidence of the i30 N’s racing roots, then you need look no further than the sports exhaust. The twin-outlet active exhaust has three settings, allowing the driver to select the ideal level of exhaust sound for the conditions – keep it subdued around town or allow the engine’s full vocal range to be enjoyed when the open road beckons. In Sports+, the throttle lifts and downshifts to bring a thrilling volley of rasping crackles and pops that have to be heard to be appreciated.

The increased front brake discs measuring 360mm are clamped by distinctive red N brake caliper, providing strong and fade-resistance stopping power.

To satisfy the thrill of the i30 N we’ve tailored the 4.2” N supervision cluster to provide more driving data. As you drive, see your stats such as speed, torque, turbo boost, g-force meter and lap timer which are all big and bold for easy visibility when you need it most.

To ensure you’re always connected, the i30 N comes with a 10.25” multimedia touchscreen display with integrated Satellite Navigation, DAB+ radio, Bluetooth™[P2] connectivity and Apple CarPlay™[P1] and Android™[P2] Auto compatibility.

For the first time, the i30 N comes with the option of N Light seats[P6], a set of lightweight, high-performance front bucket seats.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) - City/Urban/Pedestrian

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) - City/Urban/Pedestrian.

FCA utilises front radar sensors and a windshield-mounted camera to detect cars, pedestrians, and cyclists in front of the i30 N. The system can warn of a potential obstacle ahead, and apply braking to help mitigate a potential collision.

Lane Following Assist (LFA)

Lane Following Assist (LFA).

Lane Following Assist (LFA) uses the front windshield mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road, and provides steering assistance to ensure the vehicle stays in the centre of the lane.

Lane Keeping Assist - Line (LKA-L)

Lane Keeping Assist - Line (LKA-L).

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) mode, and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) mode. At speeds of 60km/h or above, LDW uses the windshield mounted camera to detect lane markings and road edges, and monitors the vehicle’s position in the lane. Should the vehicle stray from the intended lane without indicators being activated, an audible and visual warning will be sounded. LKA can be active at speeds of 60km/h or above where lane marking can be detected. LKA helps prevent the vehicle from straying from the lane by providing steering intervention should the driver not react to warnings from the LDW system.

High Beam Assist (HBA)

High Beam Assist (HBA).

When driving at night, High Beam Assist can automatically enable the high beams when safe to do so. HBA will detect nearby vehicles through the windscreen mounted camera, and automatically disable high beams when at risk of dazzling a nearby driver.

Blind-Spot Safety features

Blind-Spot Safety features.

On Manual variants, at speeds of 20km/h or above, Blind-Spot Collision warning (BCW) uses radar sensors on either side of the rear bumper to detect vehicles next to and diagonally behind the i30 N. If a vehicle is present in the i30 N’s blind spot, BCW displays a visual alert in the exterior mirrors. If the driver proceeds to activate the corresponding indicator lights, a flashing visual warning is provided and an audible alert is sounded. Additionally, the Lane Change Assist (LCA) feature scans for vehicles approaching rapidly from the rear, and uses the same BCW warning measures to alert the driver of vehicles which may be entering the i30 N’s blind spot at a higher rate of speed.

On DCT variants, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) is available which uses radar sensors on either side of the rear bumper to detect vehicles next to and diagonally behind the i30 N. If a vehicle is detected in the blind spot while the turn signal is flashing, BCA automatically applies left or right-side front braking before your attempted lane change thus helping you avert an unsafe lane change and a potential collision.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA)

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).

Using the BCA system’s radar sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) monitors for traffic approaching on either side of the i30 N when reversing out of perpendicular parking spaces at speeds of up to 8km/h. Should RCCA detect a vehicle approaching, an audible warning will sound, with a visual warning displayed on the dash cluster.

In the case that the driver does not adhere to the warning, RCCA may use braking force and help avoid a collision with the approaching vehicle.

Only available in DCT variants.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW)

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW).

Using the BCW system’s radar sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW) monitors for traffic approaching on either side of the i30 N when reversing out of perpendicular parking spaces. Should RCCW detect a vehicle approaching, an audible warning will sound, with a visual warning displayed on the dash cluster.

Only available in manual variants.

The i30 N now comes with a 10.25” touchscreen navigation system with Apple CarPlay™[P1] and Android™[P2] Auto. So you can play the music and podcasts you love and also stay in touch with the outside world. It makes playtime even more fun.

The 4.2" colour LCD with trip computer, oil temperature / torque / turbo boost gauges, g-force meter, lap timer, & digital speedometer are all there to ensure that you get the most out of the i30 N.

Big is most certainly better, we’ve increased the front brake discs to measure 360mm for ultimate fade-resistance stopping power. Clamped by the distinctive red N brake callipers, safety meets exhilaration.

To deliver optimum ride and handling regardless of road surface, the i30 N is fitted with Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS). A lower, firmer suspension tune combined with electronically controlled dampers that continuously adjust damping force (based on road conditions, vehicle speed and driver inputs) means the i30 N delivers exceptional turn-in characteristics and body control, without sacrificing the ride compliance needed for daily driving comfort.

N Grin Mode System.

N Grin Mode System.

Just like in a video game, the i30 N allows you to switch driving mode at the touch of a button. Choose from five individual drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, N or N Custom settings to perfectly match the road or driving conditions. In Custom mode you decide the drive, saving your specs for engine mapping, damper character, steering feedback, E-LSD characteristics, stability control and exhaust sound level. It’s your drive with your specific settings.

So how does it sound? The i30 N’s Active variable exhaust system is a twin-outlet installation featuring three settings, allowing the driver to select the ideal level of exhaust sound for the conditions – keep it subdued around town, or allow the engine’s full vocal range to be enjoyed when the open road beckons. In its most sporting setting, throttle lifts and downshifts bring a thrilling volley of rasping crackles and pops that must be heard to be appreciated.

The electronically controlled mechanical limited slip differential (E-LSD) uses a hydraulically actuated clutch pack to distribute torque intelligently between the two front wheels depending on throttle inputs, steering angle, and cornering force. This technology reduces wheelspin and understeer while increasing traction and cornering speed, allowing the driver to extract maximum performance from the i30 N.

Available on manual variants, drive like a pro with automatic rev-matching, a function that automatically blips the throttle on downshifts, replicating the ‘heel and toe’ technique used by racing drivers to deliver smooth downshifts where revs and road-speed are perfectly synchronised.

For more thrills on the road, the i30 N’s powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged engine has been reworked with an all-new turbocharger and intercooler setup – now delivering 206kW and 392 Nm. The 206kWengine offers flat power, providing even more torque and power for exhilarating performance.

The i30 N keeps maximum torque between 2,100 and 4,700 RPM, and achieves maximum power at 6,000 RPM. The increased low end torque improves every day driving, while the increased power at the top end provides an exhilarating spirited drive. Flat power tuning delivers improved thrust at all engine speeds which improves driving in different conditions.

The i30 N now comes with the option of 6-speed manual transmission or 8-speed DCT, for even more fun.

From naught to naughty in just a few seconds. Launch control optimises your standing start, just like a professional performance driver. When selected, Launch control enables the driver to select first gear, flatten the throttle and allow the system’s sophisticated electronics to manage torque output, minimise wasteful wheelspin and make the quickest getaway possible.

All-new N DCT.

Now with the option of an 8-speed dual clutch transmission, the i30 N is even more fun to drive. N DCT is a wet type transmission, meaning that oil is used to cool the clutch components, creating less friction and allowing a higher amount of torque to be transferred through the gearbox. The N DCT brings that sequential gearbox feeling to the i30 N. Push forward to downshift, pull back to upshift, you can now shift gears like a video game for maximum driving fun. Now everyone can play.

Three new N performance functions.

Three new N performance functions.

The N DCT brings with it three new N performance functions for even more driving fun: N Grin Shift, N Power Shift and N Track Sense Shift.

N Grin Shift (NGS) releases maximum power of the engine and transmission for 20 seconds – to bring a grin to every driver’s face.

N Power Shift (NPS) engages when the car accelerates with more than 90 percent of throttle, to deliver maximum power to the wheels. You’ll feel like you’re being propelled.

N Track Sense Shift (NTS) automatically recognizes when the road conditions are optimal for dynamic driving, for example on a racetrack, and activates automatically so you feel like a racing driver.
